Identifying a configuration item means that this item identified will be formally controlled thourg the change
    management sub-area.

Every new product or core asset (or a new release of them) can bring new configuration items to the SPL. The difference
between single-system development and SPL, regarding configuration identification, is that not only the items that will
be controlled are identified, but its variants as well.

In cases of new releases of products or core assets, this activity must only be performed in there is a major change in
the development scope (technology change, great re-factories, etc. ).
